NGor
This is gonna be your safe & uncrowded tiny surf paradise for 11 full days with your sisters.
We are constantly trying to improve our mentoring trips based on your needs. You asked for an intermediate coaching in uncrowded, consistent waves with detailed daily video analysis and endless tropical beaches, warm water and a vibrant native culture to explore?
Say no more.
-
Yes! Even though Senegal is surrounded by a few world-class waves, it is still undiscovered by many of us.
The waves in Senegal are consistent all year round - almost twice as consistent as France and Morocco in summer, and there are no sharks to worry about ;-)
-
You will have two of the most epic waves of Senegal in front of your door:
NGor right and left.
Those waves became famous because of the iconic movie “Endless Summer” – so let’s make this our endless surf.
-
We are with you, 24/7 – as usual we will stay in the same house with you girls.
Grab your board and surf whenever you feel like. You will also find different boards to try out anytime.

SURF
-
A vibrant culture full of music and art.
Senegal has long been considered a cultural mecca of the African continent.
The country boasts many ethnic groups with the Wolof, Fula, and Serer being the most predominant.
-
One day is reserved for adventure!
RESERVE OF BANDIA
An unforgettable safari during your stay in Senegal in the reserve of Bandia where you can meet all the big mammals of Africa in 3.500 ha of grand nature: huge baobabs, thorny bushes, whimsical lianas …
-
The island creates this perfect safe environment to just walk around and explore Senegalese culture in a very relaxed and authentic way.
After a couple of days, you will know half of the island by nickname and make this your little home, where you will always want to come back.
EXPLORE
-
We care about how you feel in- and outside the water.
The emotional surf coaching focuses on both, the technical and psycho-emotional aspects of surfing. Many of us are scared of the water, the waves, the people, getting hurt – this is a normal part of surfing. You are not alone.
-
This is not a surfcamp… forget what you know about surf lessons. We run things different. We want you to improve, be independent in the line up and gain confidence in yourself!
As our approach is always local-first, we will be working with male local surfguides to support Cami & Danny in the water.
They know the area and wave conditions best, to secure a successful surf session for us.
-
Daily video analysis was one of the most requested points on your feedback list – and we took you by the word sister!
We will have videograhers on every guided surf session to make sure, that we have you daily on camera.
Also, you will have access to all footage after to download.
MENTORING
-
Meet a bunch of rad sisters who might become your lifetime surf buddies.
-
A big part of our mentorings is about reconnecting to yourself.
This is nothing that happens from one day to the other. Sometimes we have to face our biggest fears for that. Sometimes we just have to feel safe and supported.
Whatever you need, we are there for you!
-
Let’s chase some waves together with the sisters from “Black Girls Surf” – a vibrant female surf community to connect with.

We believe that the only way to really improve your surf, is to adapt the teaching method to your personal needs and level – not the other way around.
We all have a different approach in learning new skills. This is what we want to tackle with our unique Surf Mentoring.
We combine different methods like surf lessons/free-surf guiding, mental coaching, video analysis, emotional surf coaching, surf-oriented yoga, theory and emotional workshops to squeeze the best out of your surf experience. -
We believe that a proper surf coaching doesn’t start or end with the time you spend on location during your vacation.
That is why we will be on your side before, during and after your stay.
After you saved your spot, our surf coach Cami will schedule a 30min call with you to get to know eachother, evaluate your surf level and give you the first exercises to practice at home in preparation for your trip.
-
This is not an average surf camp. It’s like taking private lessons in a group of like-minded sisters, that you can share your experience and exchange knowledge with.
Usually we have to decide if we pay a lot of money for private coaching or go for group lessons, where our individual needs get lost most of the times.
We don’t want to make compromises anymore.
WE WANT BOTH!
-
Our surf coaches are specialized on emotinal surf coaching.
A unique method that tackles both, the technical and psycho-emotional aspects of surfing.
We will create space in an emotional workshop for us to talk about our fears and traumas and teach you tools, for how to deal with them better or even overcome them.
We care how you feel in- and outside the water!
-

The SURF
Have you ever heard about NGor?
Well, that is exactly the reason why we have curated this little known surf gem for you. Even though Senegal is surrounded by a few world-class waves, it is still undiscovered by many of us. Let’s explore it together!
-
We are surfing on reef! But there is nothing to worry about.
We know exactly where to go on which tide, so you will always have enough water underneath.
From smooth longboard to fast tubing waves, you will find them all.
But no worries, high season for the big slappy waves is from October-April. So we will be perfectly on time to enjoy the best conditions that will fit our needs.
-
Epic breaks that pick up both north and south swells.
Thanks to its location on the Cabo Verde Peninsula, the Dakar area is exposed to both southern and northern hemi swells.
It’s pretty safe to say you will get some consistent 365 days of the year.
When NGor Right is pumping you probably won’t need to venture far.
You can roll out of bed and straight into waves.
-
You don’t need to. The water is warm and you can actually surf in a bikini.
But to protect yourself from rushes and the sun, we recommend wearing a lycra, shorty or even a very thin wetsuit.
-
We recommend wearing thin shoes (we also provide in the surf house) because of some nasty sea urchins.
-
The water is warm and clean. On the surf spots we haven’t experienced any heavy pollution so far.
FAQs
-
As an EU or US citizen, you do not need a visa to travel to Senegal. You will simply get a stamp in your passport upon arrival. For all other nationalities, please consult your local Senegalese embassy to find out whether or not you need a visa to travel to Senegal.
-
A yellow fever vaccination is recommended, but not mandatory to enter the country. Cases of yellow fever in Senegal are extremely rare and virtually non-existant in Dakar.
However, if you plan to travel outside of Dakar or visit other West African countries after your stay in Senegal, a yellow fever vaccination is advised.
-
Wetsuit or rash guard/vest/lycra, depending on the time of year.
Basic first aid kit
Since suncreen is quite expensive in Senegal, it can often be cheaper to bring one from home.
Reusable water bottle (We have unlimited amount of clean drinking water in the camp.)
Senegal is a modern country, so you can find (almost) everything here as if it was a western country.
-
Blaise Diagne International Airport. Transfers will be pre-scheduled on designated dates & times.
-
The currency in Senegal is West African CFA franc (currency code XOF) and it has an official fixed exchange rate to the euro: 1 Euro=655 CFA (although the commonly accepted 'street exchange rate' is 1 Euro=650CFA).
You can exchange Euros on the island or on the mainland. There are no ATMs on the island, but there are plenty on the mainland and at the airport.
-
The national language in Senegal is French but Wolof is spoken more widely as the level of French can depend on education. English is becoming more widely spoken every year. All of our staff can speak French and a lot of them speak english too.
-
There are a lot of pharmacies and doctors on the mainland. Due to a large expat community, the health infrastructure is well established. Western-standard ambulance services exists (SOS Médecins) as well as well-regarded private hospitals (Clinique de la Madeleine). These work seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day,
In addition, the owner of the surfcamp is also a European qualified physiotherapist.
I never thought I’d say going on a surf trip would be a life changing experience, but the camp with Ocean Sisters proved me wrong. Of course the surfing and skating was awesome, so was the hotel and food. But really, the emotional focus, the community, the women - that is what made it so special. It was a week of raw emotions, of laughter, of sisterhood and I’m so so grateful. Thank you Julia, Cami and Estelle (and the girls)
